Christopher's obituary
Obituary for Christopher Montrose Carter Jr. November 15, 2006 – January 9, 2025
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Christopher Montrose Carter Jr., who departed this life far too soon on January 9, 2025, at the age of 18.
Born on November 15, 2006, Christopher was a light in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was the first-born son of Shlea and Christopher Carter Sr., a moment marked by both surprise and instant, deep love. Shlea fondly recalls being told she was having a daughter—something she wasn’t quite ready for, already raising a little girl. But to her surprise, she was gifted with a son—her first boy—who immediately captured her heart in a way only a mother’s son can.
Christopher was exceptionally intelligent, a young man with a natural gift for building, creating, and fixing. From an early age, he could construct anything with his hands—no instructions needed. His sharp mind and unique talents earned him many certificates and accolades throughout his academic journey. He was a thinker, a doer, and a dreamer with a future full of promise.
Though life challenged him, and at times he struggled to find his path—as so many young adults do—Christopher never stopped trying. He was learning, growing, and doing his best to figure out the world around him. He was set to celebrate prom and graduation this year—milestones he so deeply deserved. His story was not finished, but his impact was already felt.
Christopher leaves behind a loving and devoted family: his mother Shlea, his father Christopher Sr., his sister De’Ajia, his brothers Caleb and Kay’Din, and his sisters Sky and Rylee. Each of them carries a piece of his light and memory, which will never fade.
Though he has left this world, Christopher’s presence remains with us—in every memory, every lesson, every smile he shared. His race has ended, but his spirit is free.
The turtle race is over. Rest easy, Christopher. You are forever loved.
