Christopher's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Byrd, born on March 9, 1978, and departed from this life on September 21, 2023. A devoted husband, father, son, and friend, Christopher's unfading light of love, wisdom, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Ann Byrd; his children - sons Jeremy and Barrett, and daughter Copeland. He also leaves behind his mother, Cindy Lunsford, and his father, Lee Byrd. His legacy of love and dedication will continue to guide his family, even in his absence.

A celebration of Christopher's life will be held on September 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Reynolda Church. The service will stand as a testament to the profound impact Christopher had on the lives of those he touched, embodying one of his favorite sayings, "Do it right or do it twice!".

Christopher was born a culinary enthusiast, graduating from Johnson and Wales University in 2000 with a degree in Culinary Arts. His passion for creating delightful cuisine led him to open the Third Square Restaurant in 2022, which quickly became a cherished eatery in the community.

Christopher was a man of varied interests. He held a deep love for the South Carolina Gamecocks, often seen cheering them on. When he wasn't in his beloved restaurant's kitchen, he was likely on the golf course with his boys, sharing laughs and creating lasting memories. His favorite getaway was any beach, where he often retreated to unwind and rejuvenate.

Of all his accomplishments, Christopher was most proud of being a man of God and his family. His unwavering love and dedication to his family were a testament to his profound character, and his deep-rooted faith guided him through life's trials and triumphs.

As we mourn the loss of Christopher, let us remember his invaluable lessons, cherish his memory, and strive to live by his example. Our loss is heaven's gain, and we find comfort in knowing that his legacy continues to illuminate the lives of his loved ones.
