Christopher's obituary

Christopher Clark Boardman

October 9, 1946 – December 12, 2025

Christopher Clark Boardman, 79, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with pneumonia, heart disease and kidney failure.

Born on October 9, 1946, in Madison, Wisconsin, Krist grew up in a vibrant Midwestern community that nurtured his lifelong love of learning, history, and creativity. He spent most of his adult life in Joppatowne, Maryland, where he raised his family and built a life full of adventure, intellect, and community involvement.

A true dreamer and eternal optimist, Krist pursued countless passions with unwavering enthusiasm. He was a talented writer who researched crimes and had his work published in numerous detective magazines and books, he produced a radio show, and wrote screenplays that he tirelessly championed. His creative spirit extended to playing the piano, watercolor painting, and cooking memorable meals.

In mid-life, he embarked on a new chapter by becoming a registered nurse, eventually finding purpose as a prison nurse for many years until his retirement. He also held roles in sales and teaching, always bringing his sharp mind, warmth and optimism to those around him. He was a voracious reader with an encyclopedic knowledge of history, a brilliant chess player, and was actively engaged in his community and in local politics, running for multiple local offices. He created and published a well loved community newspaper for years "The Towne Crier" and worked tirelessly to save the Joppatowne Community Pool. He also spent many years building a house and a farm in West Virginia.

Though his later years were marked by health and mobility challenges, Krist always remained good-hearted and optimistic.

Christopher is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Dianne Boardman; his daughter, Kimberly Boardman (Scott Mozlin); his son, Alexander Boardman (Leslie Boardman); grandchildren Julia Mozlin, Madeline Mozlin, Annabelle Boardman, and Sienna Boardman; and siblings Susan (Carol) Boardman, Erika Boardman Kraft (Doug), Andrew Boardman and Benjamin Boardman (Terri).

He was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Betty as well as his sister Sarah. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral / celebration of Krist's life will be held on January 3, 2026 at 2pm at 2725 NE 14th Ave, Wilton Manors, FL 33334.
