Chris, directing the University of Connecticut Alumni Choir singing
Live A Humble, arranged by Peter Bagley, September 2024. A huge debt of gratitude to Jamie Spillane, current Director of Choral Studies at UConn, for his diligent efforts to provide this clip. It was something Chris wanted but didn't get a chance to follow up on. Sharing with friends and family as it sums up Chris Bagley's life perfectly.

I knew Chris from a bank that I used to work for. He would come and we'd chat about life and the theater. We would become friends and keep in touch. I know that I'll miss his Happy Birthday wishes, as I'd return them and the occasional text just to check in, so I can only imagine his family's feeling of loss. You all have my sincerest condolences as you grieve Chris.

Chris was the first person I ever knew whose birthday was on October 31st. He was an amazing human being. He was kind, funny, smart and an amazing musician. His capacity to teach and inspire was a gift. Your life touched so many and made a lasting difference along our life's journey. I can't believe that I will never hear your voice or laugh again. To the Bagley Family, you have my deepest sympathy. Christopher Alan Bagley was an original.....there will never ever be another. Take your rest as you go from labor to reward my friend. I'll miss you always.

Chris and I have been friends for 40 ish years. We both served and chaired the Md Governor’s Youth Advisory Council back in the 1980’s.
Ever few years we’d catch up one way or another. We shared a love of politics, current events, theater, theology, and music. We had just spoken a couple of months back.
Sadly, I missed his last visit to Baltimore. I so wanted to see his Paul Robeson show. We also shared a variety of friends, and we loved keeping up on the gossip.
They say may your memory be a blessing, but your friendship has also been a blessing.

I met Chris through a mutual friend, Corliss, as we watched a couple of plays together in Winston-Salem, NC. The three of is also dined together. He was very thoughtful. Unfortunately, I was out of state when he did PAUL ROBINSON and I missed it; however, he was so excited to be doing it again. I extend my most heartfelt condolences to you, members of his family and dear friends. May God's peace and strength sustain you.

This is shocking! Chris reached out to me a few years ago after reading my Roland Hayes biography. We had periodic conversations about his interest in Paul Robeson, and developing a project around it. I am so sorry for your loss.
Condolences,

The Baynham and Graham families wish to express our grief and condolences of Chris’ passing. It was my pleasure to meet Chris when he succeeded my mother, Barbara Baynham, at Ebenezer Baptist as its Director/ Minister of Music. Please know of our continued prayers for your family during these difficult times, knowing that Chris is at peace in the presence of God and Christ.
Blessings,
