Christopher's obituary

Christopher Jamal Alcide, affectionately known as C.J. or Skip, passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on September 26, 1991, in Hartford, Connecticut, Christopher brought joy, laughter, and warmth to every space he entered. His life was marked by an infectious spirit, a generous heart, and a deep love for his family, friends, and community.

C.J. grew up in Bloomfield, where he attended Bloomfield High School. Remembered as a bright and determined student, he carried that same drive into adulthood through a variety of work experiences that reflected his curiosity and strong work ethic. Among his proudest ambitions was his dream of joining the Navy—a reflection of his courage and desire to serve something greater than himself.

Known for his vibrant energy and love for life, C.J. enjoyed a wide range of interests that spoke to his multifaceted nature. He was an avid volleyball player, an outdoorsman who found peace in nature, a devoted tea drinker, and a talented guitar player. His zest for life was contagious. C.J. had a rare ability to turn strangers into friends and brighten any gathering with his presence. He was sincere, thoughtful, and always willing to help—known as someone who would “give you the shirt off his back.”

Above all, Christopher’s love for his family was the anchor of his life. He is survived by his loving parents, Anne-Marie and Peter Alcide, and his brothers, Kurt, Berniah, and Marcel Alcide. To them, and to the many relatives and friends whose lives he touched, he leaves behind memories filled with laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love.

A memorial service celebrating Christopher’s life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Howard K. Hill Funeral Home (formerly Fuqua), located on Granby Street in Bloomfield. The viewing will take place from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by the celebration of life. Interment with military honors will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

The Alcide family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, kind words, and support during this difficult time. Christopher’s light will continue to shine through every life he touched.
