Christopher's obituary

Christopher Jerome Acosta, Born in Salinas, Ca on May 13, 1972 to Ygnacio and Gloria Acosta. Brother of Eric and Gloria Acosta. He was raised in Gonzales, CA where he went to elementary and high school. Graduating high school in 1990, he then moved to Bakersfield. There he enrolled in Bakersfield College, joining the school paper and started making his circle of deep friendships here in Bakersfield. After marrying in 1998, he soon had two wonderful daughters Annalee and Jami.

Work had always be one of the centers of his life. He worked the typical mall jobs “Glamour Shots”. Then he found the pizza business, delivery, working the counter, and the kitchen for the local Bakersfield infamous company “Rusty’s Pizza and then Pizza Hut.” (I hope you see the irony of Rusty’s being across the street from where we are gathered here today.) One of his biggest breaks he had was when he got a job at the call center ACS where he worked there for 12 years. He moved on from there to work at All-American Transport, driving patients to and from their medical appointments.

He had a wide variety of hobbies and interests ranging from Science Fiction and Fantasy, such as Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, all the way to history and Politics. His biggest pastime was trying new and different food. He could be considered a Gourmet chef without the pretentiousness.

His greatest pastime in this life was his friends and his family. Always willing to help, he would be there for all the important moments and all of the small ones too.

Chris was preceded in death by both of his parents which he missed deeply.

His family will miss him greatly. They are his daughters Annalee and Jami his Sister Cha Cha her husband Richard and niece Zoe. His brother Eric and wife Jessica, his niece Camille and nephews Peter and myself Stephen.

His passing is a great loss to this world. He was a shining light and a beacon of hope to everyone that was ever close to him.
