I first met Chris the night I met my future husband Carlos. I remember being struck by the brothers' genuine friendship and closeness-- heck, they even had matching tattoos! I never would have imagined that Chris would one day become like a brother to me. Every time he came around, he would pursue conversations with us that would challenge our minds, had intention and meaning and showed passion towards helping others and making lives better. He had always done his research and took an interest in big causes. He was very knowledgeable in so many things, and who knew he had such a love for politics! I will truly miss those talks with Chris and his company in general. Just thinking of his laughter and catch phrases makes me smile. He also loved animals and took such good care of my pups when they were small. The feeling was mutual and those pups would go crazy for him whenever he was around. He will never be forgotten by the family, and I hope that others will continue to remember the good times they had with him--it's what Chris would have wanted. He left a piece of himself with all of us, and we are all lucky to have had whatever time, although way too short, we had with him. May he rest in peace as he is forever loved.

Legamos a nuestro Santo Padre y al salvador. Ellos responderán recompensa. Escucha atentamente

No estoy muerto: madre, padre, abuelos, hermanas, hermanos, sobrinos, primos, amigos. Estoy contigo siempre.

Saint Christopher

Born with roots stretching from Nicaragua and wings fastened in the United States.

Son of pilgrims seeking refuge and liberty,
From a family of pillars that sustains the community and the church over their hearts.

And now your death reverberates in tremors throughout the Earth
We fall to our knees and crumble in agony as the world separates.

Despite your prodigious wisdom, you suffered poison meant not for you. A solo Romeo, you leave before we can kiss you goodbye.

You sailed into the world of light where the savior shares manna on his table for countless days.

The father returned you home to prepare you for the great reunion where we will hold hands and sing in unison.

Your voice echoes through the divide carried in whispers through the myst...

Please, family and compadres, do not hurry to join me.

You have your mission to complete and life is very short for each of us.

Sing songs of joy and agape, enjoy our children and moments together.

Talk to me in your hearts and minds and I will listen to you. Let us come to our Holy Father and the savior. They will answer and reward. Listen reverently.

Do not despair. Our lord is with you always. His rainbow of love surrounds you while holding you in the palm of his hand.

I am not dead: mother, father, grandparents, sisters, brothers, nephews, cousins, friends. I am always with you. Be gentle with yourself and others.

Our purpose is to help God create heaven on Earth. We strive and love together forever.
