Christine Stone
April 23, 1960 – July 20, 2025
Christine “Chris” Marie Stone, 65, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by loved ones.
Born on April 23, 1960, in Salem, Massachusetts, Christine eventually made her home in St. Augustine, Florida, where she shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Mario (Mike) Vanderlinden. Christine was an exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable nurse, devoted to the healing and well-being of others. Her work was not just a profession, but a true calling that touched countless lives with comfort, skill, and compassion.
Christine was the devoted mother of her son, Alexander, and the adoring grandmother of Riley, both of whom were the pride and joy of her life. She deeply loved and cared for her step son Marc and step grandchildren Kelmar, Isabella, and Joseph (deceased). She is also survived by her loving sisters Lisa Stone and Toni Stone; many adoring nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and a wide circle of friends and colleagues who will miss her dearly.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Anne Marie Stone; her sisters Debra Brown and Cynthia Collins; and her beloved nephews Scott Brown and Joe Collins.
Those who knew Christine remember her as selfless, deeply caring, joyous, warm, supportive, protective, compassionate, kind, nonjudgmental, and calming. She was a source of great strength and comfort for her family and a light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether as a nurse, family member, friend, or coworker, Christine embodied love and grace in every role she held.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and it brings comfort to those she leaves behind to know that Christine now rests in the arms of her Savior, Jesus. She was well-deserving of heaven.
A memorial services will be held Florida as well as in Massachusetts, details to follow.
