Christine's obituary

Christine Winemiller Price Arbeiter went to be home with the Lord on October 3rd 2020 after a long, tough yet brave battle with cancer. Christine was born July 18, 1954 in Christopher, IL to Irvin & Billie Mae Winemiller. She is a graduate of Carbondale High School Class of 1972 and also attended Southern Illinois University. Growing up, her love for family and the farm was nurtured during all of the visits to the family farm in Whittington, IL. Of course during these years, not only did her fondness for horses begin, but so did all of the wonderful stories and memories of time spent there with her cousins from California. After many years in Chicago’s North Suburbs, her last few years created some of her favorite times. Following her cancer diagnosis in the Spring of 2018, Christine relocated to Alabama to be with her son, Ben (Katie) and family, while receiving treatment. After receiving an initial all clear in late 2018, she moved to her final home in Sorento, IL. Shortly after her move, she married Steven Arbeiter who during this time showed her true love, care and compassion as she finished her race.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Arbeiter; her son, Ben Price (Katie); her three grandchildren, Luke, June & Aaron; her Sister, Phyllis Hunter (Ron); loving extended family and a host of very close long-time friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Billie Mae Winemiller.
A special thank you to Tammy Walker & Terri Titmuss who were by her side helping to take care of her in her final days.
Also a heart felt thank you to the Southern Illinois Hospice nurses who cared for Christine.
