Our deepest condolences to David, Naomi, Rebekah, nephew Matthew, and your families. We treasure the memory of the few moments in Chris’ life we shared. Especially our careful dinner conversation the time Chris and David visited us in Sacramento. We had a good laugh later when we realized we all knew the “secret” of Bekah and Matthew’s engagement!

Chris & Dave came for a visit and I wanted to show them this piece of history... Fun day of exploring off the beaten path.
Our family was so saddened to hear of Chris' passing. She was such a wonderful christian lady and gave so much to Oak Hill United Methodist. Her dedication to the youth program meant a lot to us as our child grew up with her. We will pray for you during this incredibly hard time. May God give you peace and comfort.

I am just seeing the memorial service and so sorry that I missed it! Chris had such an amazing impact on my life. She was my first and best friend when I moved to Eagle River, Alaska. We were in church together at Eagle River Free Methodist Church. I can't begin to tell you how much this friendship meant to me. We had so many talks about so many things! She opened my eyes to so many things and I like to think that I did the same with her... especially things of a "southern" nature. She was there with me when my daughter was born.. I was there with her during surgeries and recoveries... she shared so much individually as well as time together with our husbands.... trips... hunting and fishing and camping ... exploring and other things.
It is so difficult to pick a best story.... but one for sure was a "ski" day we had. We were both working on the "bunny slope". The "lift" was a rotating wire that was in continuous motion... like the chair lift without chairs... There were these "bar" type things about a foot long that you skied up to and lodged under your armpit to move to the "top". I can't tell you how many times that day the lift operator was a bit out done with us! We would get up to the lift, if one of us got properly attached... chances were the other was laughing so hard that one of us would loose balance and fall... pulling the whole line down! They had to stop the lift and everyone who fell would get up and then off we would go... I think they pushed us past the "bunny slope" to get us away from there!
My heart is breaking and yet I know she is free and in no more pain. I know she was ready and I know where she is!
I am so very, very thankful to have had my short visit in March. I was not prepared and yet I was. I guess I should stop rambling... Please just know that Chris Nantz was a true example of a friend..... a christian friend. She was honest... she and I shared that brutal honesty with one another. I am thankful for every talk we ever had... but especially now I am thankful for those last shared conversations during my visit. I love this woman and will miss her dearly. That seems odd, since we did not see each other that often...but I always knew she was there and truly hope that she felt the same.

Chris was a woman of faith with a true servants heart. She will be greatly missed. May God comfort all of you and give you peace. Love, Steve and Millie Shuffler
We are sorry for your loss. We met Chris and Davis in Alaska when they were so young. She will be so missed.
We want to send our heartfelt sympathies to all of Chris’ family. We loved her spirit, her honesty, and her glowing love for her Lord witnessed to us through the times she shared from her heart during worship. She was such a “presence” during worship and we will miss that..2nd row on the left!! I know all of you are grieving, but I hope that you’re feeling the grace and peace that God promises to us when we need it most.

I am so sorry to hear of Chris's passing. May God comfort all of you during this sad time. Chris was a devoted home schooling mother and active supporter of the early years of Burke County Homeschoolers.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Chris for a while with the Tuesday afternoon middle school youth group. I got to know her and love her. I am praying for all of you.
