Chris's obituary
Christine “Chris” Horan, 84, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Chris was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and compassion touched everyone she met. She spent her career as a nurse, where she was known not only for her skill, but for her extraordinary kindness and the genuine care she showed to her patients and their families. Nursing was more than a profession to Chris—it was a reflection of her generous heart.
She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially tending to her garden and traveling to new places. Whether nurturing flowers or exploring somewhere new, Chris embraced beauty in all its forms and shared that joy with those around her.
Chris was a loving mother to her daughters, Karen, (Hugh "Sandy" Bell ) Sheila, (Mike Skipper) and Vicki, who preceded her in death. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Christi (Matthew Strautmann) Katie Bell, Kelli Bell and Courtney Bell and to Jack Skipper and Aidan Skipper (Emma Hutcheson) She also lovingly remembered her daughter Vicki, her husband Ray, and their sons Adam and Erik, all of whom have passed on.
Her legacy continues through her two cherished great-grandsons, Clayton and Carter, and their mother Laura Cannon who brought her immense pride and happiness.
Chris will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
There will be a celebration of life planned to be announced at a later date.
