Christine's obituary
Christine was born on June 24, 1944 to Harry and Phoebe "Marie" (Mansfield) Frumen and grew up in Beaver Falls, PA, where her family had the well-known Frumen Dairy Farm. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1962 and briefly attended Penn State University.
A summer job brought her to New Jersey in 1964, where she met and married Bruce Fischbein and raised their two children, Joel and Dara. In 1987 she moved to the Belmont Shore in Long Beach, where she fondly called home for 33 years.
She excelled at various careers over the years, with a special talent for Sales. She spent the past 20 years as a Realtor, most recently with Keller Williams Coastal Properties, where she was known for going above and beyond and for always striving to exceed her client's expectations.
She enjoyed working for charitable causes and was a strong supporter of KW Cares. Also passionate about the "Back to School" Project, for many years she headed up the program that collected backpacks & school supplies for homeless children in need.
She was a keen bridge player and a longtime member of both the Long Beach Bridge Center and Leisure World Bridge Club and enjoyed serving as a part-time Bridge Director.
She was a great cook and loved to share her favorite recipes. She was an avid reader who always had a book in hand. People loved her great sense of humor and wonderful way of telling stories. She was the first one to forward a good joke or something she found interesting or useful. Intelligent and always willing to share her knowledge and to help others, she was also resourceful; even if she didn't know the answer, she would always seem to find a way to get it.
She lived by the saying, "Waste not, want not", which her dad instilled in her as a child.
She was a strong, independent woman who bravely fought cancer with a positive attitude and optimism like no other, despite each set-back or bit of disappointing news.
Christine is survived by her son, Joel Fischbein (San Jose, CA) and her daughter and son-in-law, Dara and Tony Bridgewater (Cairns, Australia) and her beloved cat, Charlie.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harry & Phoebe "Marie" Frumen, her sister Karen (Frumen) Bates and a brother-in-law, Donald "Donnie" Terwilliger. She is survived by her sister, Vicky Terwilliger, brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Karen Frumen, and her sister and brother-in-law, Kimmy & Bryan Carrick. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews, along with many friends who will all dearly miss her.
Her family would like to send a special thank you to the Reliable Health caregivers & nurses and to the countless friends & neighbors who provided wonderful care and unconditional support to her.
