Christine's obituary
Christine (nee Emerson) Frees, a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend died unexpectedly in her sleep on October 8, 2021. Christine is survived by her husband Peter Frees, sons David and Simon, her parents Jerome and Angelika Emerson, her sister Claudia Van Loo and her brother-in-law Alain Van Loo and her nephew Soren and niece Elsa.
Christine was 51 years old, born on Clark AFB in the Philippines and traveled throughout her younger years as the daughter of an Air Force Lt. Colonel. She graduated from Lafayette College in 1992 and received a Master of Business Administration in 1998 and eventually married Peter and settled in Chester NJ.
Christine was a devoted mother and wife, an avid and exceptional cook, an expert skier, and a natural caregiver. Christine was always planning a new travel adventure for her family and friends. She spent her life in service to others, most especially her immediate and extended family and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Gladstone, NJ where she was chair for the Parish Life Guild and the popular Gourmet-to-Go program. Christine was also passionate about her job at HS Design and saw many of her co-workers as an extended family. Christine was the perfect mix of sharp wit, laughter, and truth, with a generous, kind, and loving heart. She was a true lover of community and fellowship and found much joy in hosting social events at her home. She was a person anyone could count on. She was the most beautiful soul and will be treasured in our hearts forever.
Christine left behind a loving legacy of family and friends. We created this website as a place where those of us so moved could contribute to the HSD Christine Frees Memorial Trust to be used to support David and Simon as they transition from adolescence to adulthood without their amazing mother.
