Christine's obituary

Eulogy for Christine Bougie

Good morning, my name is Sara Baldi, and I am the daughter of Christine Bougie. Thank you all for being here and a ending my Mom’s Celebration of Life. I am truly grateful for your support. If you knew my mom, you knew that she was generous, loving and kind. She was very protective of me growing up, partly because I was her miracle baby. She loved having a clean house and was very much a homebody. She liked to be surrounded by beauty such as flowers, artwork, angels, crystals and candles. She loved nature, had a green thumb and loved gardening. My mom loved to bake cupcakes, cookies, and always made cakes for any event. Her favourite pizza place was Louis’s Pizza on McArthur in Ottawa; we always ended up sharing their coconut cream pie. Her favourite show was a soap opera called “Young & the Restless” which existed from before I was born, and she watched it religiously my whole life. On a cozy night, you would find her watching the latest Hallmark Romance movie on Ne lix, cuddling with her cats and having her snacks. My mom’s hobbies included jewelry making, painting, and various handmade crafts. I loved having Sunday brunches with my parents. I hope this is a tradition which I can pass down to my family. On a typical weekend, my parents would be cleaning the house while listening to music. During road trips, we would sing our hearts out and annoy my stepdad. One memory I will forever cherish is our trip to Walt Disney World when I was 10 years old. I remember we accidentally ended up on a roller coaster, and we screamed the whole way through.

My parents included me in their wedding day. I got to dance with them and my grandfather, Rheal. I was so proud of them. I thought my mom was so beautiful. Their love was true and has inspired me to find a love like theirs. They built a home in 2000, where we shared many beau ful memories. From birthdays to Easter to Christmas, we shared food, exchanged gifts, had many laughs and made memories. They taught me how to cook, clean, how to swim, ride a bike and how to dance. One of my Mom’s favourite sayings was “Live, Love, Laugh.” Whenever I would worry too much, she would always tell me, “Do your best and *beep* the rest”. It would always make me laugh, but how right she was. I am grateful to have been raised by this amazing woman. Although she won’t be physically there to see me get married, have babies, and buy my first house, I know she will be watching over me. I promise to follow through on your wishes for my life by living to the fullest. Mom, I hope that you are watching over my cats, Angel and Frank, in heaven un l we are reunited. In exchange, I will watch over your furry babies, Angel, Saphyr and Oreo. I want to honour you by becoming the best Mom that I can be to my future children. Thank you for a ending this ceremony and being part of my mom’s life. She is now reunited with her loving husband and family members who passed over. Mommy, I love you so much, and I will miss you every day. I hope you are at peace. Farewell.
