Christine's obituary
Christine J. Boland, 55, formerly of Quincy, MA, passed away on January 26, 2023 at her residence in Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by Edwin J. Boland (father) in 2008, Joan D. Boland (mother), 2022, and her second husband James Fucci in 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Justine (Sullivan) Johnson (Nicholas) and Britney Fucci (Joe Petto), three grandchildren James Petto, Barron Johnson and Blair Johnson. Sisters Margot (Boland) Darby, Rachel (Boland) Bothe (Jason Bothe, Joseph Bothe), Jennifer Boland (Chris Lombardo), Terry Boland (Kate and Nate Nolting) and Petty (Boland) Currier (Marvin) as well as her first husband John Sullivan.
As a young adult, Christine enjoyed going out in style with friends, listening to music, and dancing around with those who would indulge her. Christine also loved to laugh and her laugh was infectious.
She was a hard working mother in the early years, juggling kids, career and relationships. She worked for the State Department as a Corrections Officer for 16 years. At which time she was injured on the job and that’s when her dependency to opioids began. Christine fought a long battle with alcohol and drug use, and tried her hardest to stay sober and positive. But eventually she succumbed to this disease of addiction. She is so loved and will be missed by many for years to come.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on February 9, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, MA. A light luncheon will follow at a local establishment and family and friends are invited to attend. The interment of her ashes will be held at another time and will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that remembrances be made to any substance use recovery program in your community or to the charity of your choice in her name.
