Christine's obituary
Christine Marie Betro, aged 65, of Stevens Point, WI, passed away on April 5, 2026. Born on November 4, 1960, Christine was a beloved figure in her community, known for her vibrant spirit and resilience.
Christine, affectionately known as Chrys, embarked on a diverse career path that reflected her dynamic personality. Starting at the local newspaper, her passion for learning and helping others led her to pursue further education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science. She dedicated her career to mental health and child/family counseling, making significant contributions to the well-being of many.
Despite her vision impairment, Christine never let it define or limit her. She remained active and engaged in her community, forming deep and lasting relationships. Her home in Stevens Point was a hub of warmth and friendship, cherished by her family and a wide circle of friends.
Christine was a devoted member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, where she found spiritual solace and community support. Her love for animals, especially her dogs, was profound, bringing joy and companionship throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Betty Gagas; her brother, Tony Jr.; Sadly her beloved children, Angelica Hope and Dylan Hope; and her favorite Uncle Joe and Aunt Dorothy Woyak.
Christine is survived by her daughter, Jennifer "Kendra" Delaney (William), and grandchildren Kenneth, Nicolas, and Noel of Manitowoc, WI; her son, Nathaniel Rayne Betro of Plover, WI;
She will be dearly missed by her very special Woyak Family of Stevens Point, a cousin Patty (Jeff) Roberts; lifelong friends Audrey Martin, Sharon Mras, Kenny M, Randy W, Renee M many more to mention! A very special mention to Lea Kelder for her continued friendship and support in this tragic time to both Chrys and Angelica.
A memorial service to celebrate Christine's life will be held at a later date. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her, as she lived a life full of passion, sacrifice, resilience, and love.
