Christine's obituary
Christine Lynn Baena, a beloved sister, aunt, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 64.
Christine proudly served her country as a servicewoman in the United States Army for four years, including time stationed in Germany—a place that would leave a lasting impression on her life and passions.
A woman of remarkable creativity, Christine lived for her crafting. Whether it was knitting, painting, ceramics, or embroidery, she mastered it all with both talent and joy. Her hands were always busy creating beauty, and her heart was always open to sharing it. Christine was also an exceptional cook, delighting family and friends with German dishes inspired by her time overseas, as well as traditional Puerto Rican meals that reflected her deep appreciation for culture and flavor.
Above all, Christine had a profound love for animals, especially her cats. Throughout her life, they were more than pets—they were her cherished companions and true loves, each holding a special place in her heart.
Christine was predeceased by her loving parents, Judy and Ray Bonifield. She is survived by her three sisters: Denise Robertson, Sandra Woodward, and Cherie Johnston, along with her brother-in-law, Jeff Johnston. She also leaves behind seven nephews, three nieces, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom were deeply touched by her warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
Christine will be remembered for her strength, creativity, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in every hand-made gift, every cherished family recipe, and every life she touched.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor Christine’s life and service.
