Christina's obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christina "Tina" Cartwright, who left this world on February 10, 2025.
Born on July 19, 1950 in Troy, Ohio, Christina grew up in a vibrant and lively home with her many talented siblings and loving parents. She often remarked about her cherished memories going camping as a family, and how respect and love for animals, nature, and conservation were a few of the biggest lessons instilled in her from childhood. Tina attended Troy High School and graduated in 1968.
In 1973, she moved to Los Angeles, California and began an exciting career in the music industry. She went on to become the Recording and Production Operations Manager at Capitol Records, nurturing acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fats Domino, Richard Marx, and many more.
In 1992, she married the love of her life, Tom, after 11 happy years together. Later that same year, Tom and Tina were blessed with their greatest joy when they adopted their son, Sam. As a family, they created a beautiful home in Pasadena, California upon many hours of home improvement and maintenance, which Tina described as “a labor of love.” She and Tom gave Sam a loving childhood, with cherished memories in front of the fireplace, over the dinner table, and amongst the flowers and koi pond that Tina cultivated in their backyard.
In August of 2022, Tina and Tom moved to the Bay Area in California, to be closer to their son and daughter-in-law. Tina shared many wonderful times with them in the last years of her life.
Christina was a woman of many passions. She took great pleasure in gardening, cooking, listening to music, traveling, camping, skiing, puzzles, and needlepoint. She cared deeply for children, and as PTA president, was a fierce supporter of public education. While Tina was an adventurous spirit, she was most at peace when spending a quiet night at home with her family and pets. Her beautiful smile, quick wit, loving heart, and epic Xena yell will forever remain in our hearts. Those who knew Christina will remember the way she treated all living things with kindness and humanity, which was a principle she embodied her entire life. Her legacy is one of kindness, warmth, generosity, and love, and her impact will continue to shape the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
Christina's memory is cherished by her loving husband of 33 years, George (Tom) Cartwright, their son, Samuel Cartwright, her daughter-in-law, Hillary Elliott, and her siblings, Ann, Ian, and Hilarie Wilt. She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Johanna Wilt, Guido Bormida, and Margaret Parham, and a beloved aunt to nieces Cornelia, Alice, Lavinia, Alexandra, and Pamela, and nephew Damian. Christina was predeceased by her parents, Pamela and James Wilt, her sisters, Suzanne Kern and Valerie Wilt, and her brother-in-law Fred Kern.
A Celebration of Life Service for Christina will take place on April 26, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at the Burnette Household at 27566 Weston Drive in Santa Clarita. We invite all who knew and loved Christina to join us in honoring her life and sharing in our remembrance.
