Christin Mazev Obituary
DURHAM: With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Christin Marie Mazev, aged 39, on July 8, 2024. Christin died peacefully at the Hock Family Pavilion after courageously battling lymphoma for 11 months. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of John Joseph Wagner and Jeaninne Maria Wagner, and the sister of Dawn Wagner.
Christin's life was full of vibrant engagement with the world through her children, friends, and family. She is a proud alumna of Notre Dame High School in Easton, PA, and of Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. She carried her spirit of enthusiasm and excellence into her career as an educator, first as a ballet teacher in NYC for K-6 and then as a pre-K teacher in Morrisville, NC. Beyond her professional life, Christin's volunteer work with the Make a Wish Foundation, Parkinson's Moving Day, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle left a lasting impact on those she served.
Christin found joy in simple pleasures, whether a quiet afternoon reading, having a dance party with her kids, or rolling her eyes at her husband's terrible jokes. All who knew her will miss her infectious laugh and boundless kindness.
Christin's love for her family was unwavering. She was a loving wife to her husband, Jeffrey Mazev, with whom she shared ten beautiful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Lucas, Miles, and Penelope, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
Christin’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 5 to 9 PM at Treyburn Country Club, 1 Old Trail Dr, Durham, NC 27712. We will honor her memory and the light she brought into our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle, 506 Alexander Avenue, Durham, NC 27705 or to the family's GoFundMe page. These contributions will support a cause close to Christin's heart.
