Christie's obituary
Christie Ann Foertsch Clark
April 19, 1968 - December 16, 2024
Christie Ann Foertsch Clark, beloved mother, step-mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2024. Born in El Paso, Texas on April 19, 1968, to Donald and Marilyn Foertsch, Christie brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
She graduated from Eastside High School and attended Lander University. She possessed a warm and nurturing spirit, which shone through in her chosen profession as a teacher at John Knox Kindergarten. Christie had a unique ability to connect with children and loved telling stories about the fun adventures she and her students experienced.
Beyond her work, Christie enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She found joy in cooking and baking, always sharing her culinary creations with loved ones, being outdoors, and sunny days at the beach. Christie was passionate about the views, the friendships, and every aspect of hot air ballooning except for getting up before dawn.
Above all, Christie treasured her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Patrick Cooper Clark, stepdaughter, Erin Clark Ray; her parents, Donald and Marilyn Foertsch; her siblings, Mark (Jami), Susan (Brad), and Daniel (Nicola); and many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former husband Roger Duane Clark.
A funeral Mass will be held February 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rafka Marionite Catholic Church (1215 S. Highway 14 Greer, SC 29650). Following the Mass there will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family wishing to honor her memory together.
Christie will be deeply missed and forever cherished. In memory of Christie a memorial fund will be set up in her honor in the coming weeks. Funds may be mailed to Susan Newton or Roger Clark in the meantime but we will be sending out the memorial fund information as soon as everything is finalized.
