Christiana's obituary

Christiana Sophia Betancourt was born in San Francisco CA on July 15, 1990 and passed away at age 19 in Roseville CA on February 7, 2010.

Christy is survived by her grandparents Joan (Joseph) Mirabile and Teresa Dominguez Betancourt; parents Victor and Anna Betancourt of Rocklin CA; sister Emmy(Alex) Villalobos, brother Tony Betancourt and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Camerino Betancourt Torres.

She has since become a guardian angel to her nephews, Christian, Xavier and Noah Villalobos and niece, Sophia Villalobos.

She was joined in heaven by her grandfather Clifford Denton in 2014 and her aunt Rebecca Denton in 2022.

She grew up in San Francisco until 2002 and attended St. Gabriel School and Lawton Elementary. She loved sports and the outdoors and played volleyball, basketball, softball, roller hockey and soccer and loved going to the beach. She also loved music and played the clarinet and could play the piano by ear which endlessly frustrated her piano teacher. She had the biggest laugh and gave the biggest hugs and adored her family and many friends. She then moved with her family to Rocklin CA and attended Spring View Middle School, Rocklin High School and then Whitney High School as part of its premier sophomore class. She continued with her love of sports and music by playing on the school softball and volleyball teams and the clarinet in band. She also loved snowboarding, hiking, swimming, camping, and her adventures with her many friends. She worked at Starbucks in Lincoln CA after high school and met many new friends there. She also particularly loved the beaches in Santa Cruz CA and often went there to visit, meditate and write in her journal. She adored art and music and had hoped to study graphic design. She also had an amazing fashion sense and loved thrifting and finding unique clothes.

Christy had a zest for life and an infectious laugh that was contagious and she could cure whatever ailed you with one of her big hugs. She always had fun and lived in the moment and her memory will always remind us to do the same. She will be missed forever but we know she is still with us in spirit and watching over us in the wind and with the honeybees and the little goldfinches that visit us until we meet again.

We love you Christy!!!
