Chris's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christian "Chris" Gormez, who left this world too soon on May 18, 2024. Born on May 22, 2007, Chris lived a vibrant and impactful life that touched many around him.
Chris is survived by his loving family; his sister, Kailyn Gormez; his mother, Kara Gormez; his father, Denzel Gormez; his brother, Matias Gormez; and his sister, Violet Gormez. He was a beacon of strength and unity to his family, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Chris began his educational journey in elementary school in 2012 and was proud of graduating from middle school in 2022. In his limited time, he made his mark as an individual full of life, whose favorite foods included Mac and Cheese, and who enjoyed Diet Lemonade. His personal preferences reflected his uniqueness, with a particular affection for the music of J-COLE, FUTURE, and more.
Chris was a fan of popular TV shows such as 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air', and his favorite movie was 'When They See Us'. He enjoyed spending time with Alimatou, listening to music, jogging and participating in track events. His favorite color was black, revealing his refined taste.
Described by loved ones as outgoing, kind, brave, and headstrong, Chris's personality was large, and his spirit was magnetic. His philosophy of life was simple, yet profound: "Always have kindness in your heart, no matter what the world views you as". This belief encapsulated his legacy of kindness and braveness, a legacy now his gift to those who knew him.
Chris will be greatly missed by his dearest friends, especially Alimatou, and also by his beloved dog, Lola. The void left by his departure cannot be filled, but the memories he has left behind are a treasure for all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Chris, your life was a testament to your name - a Christian exuding goodness and spreading light.
