My deepest sympathy to Kirsten, Kyle and your families. Your dear mother was such a good friend from the time we were in nursing school together at Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing from 1970-1973. We remained friends since then, corresponding while she was in the Air Force, visiting all of you for vacations in the Finger Lakes and even traveling to Hawaii where we laughed our way through the week. Her distinctive laugh and fun loving personality brought her friends so much joy. I will miss her dearly and hold her memory in my heart. Rest peacefully with the angels my dear friend.

On behalf of the Society of Air Force Nurses, please know we are mourning with you the death of our sister nurse, LtCol Christeen B. Verchot. It takes a patriot, willing to give of themselves to other human beings in their time of need, to step forth and join the ranks of our U. S. Air Force Nurse Corps. Your beloved one will be mourned and missed by many who served alongside her. We will include her name in our Memorial Program of the Society of Air Force Nurses in commemoration of her life and service to our nation.

With Sincerest Regards and Gratitude,

Wendy S. Collins, Lt Col, USAF, Nurse Corps (Retired)

My most heart felt sympathy goes to all of Christeen's family, Christeen was more than just a very dear friend, she was a loved savior as Jesus himself, after my divorce she picked me up, dusted me off and taught me how to regain my self respect when i was one of her success's at the James Walton Home, where i went from a resident to home manager under Christeen's loving guidance.

I will miss Christeen each and every day as will Missy (Peanut). Her memory will live on in my heart for as long as i shall live!

My husband and I stayed with Christeen with Shirley Hatchett a fews years ago. I have never met a more gracious host. She became a forever friend.  Prayers for her and her family.🙏🙏
Christeen and I were friends for 50 years. I met her at Fort worth texas and we worked in OB/GYN postpartum and the nursery. She was also stationed in Wiesbaden Germany where I was also stationed in the US Air Force. I was a medic in the Air Force and became a nurse because of Christeen. My condolences to her family and her dear friends.
