Chris's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Chris Stathos, of Sacramento, California. Born on the 17th of May, 1963, Chris passed away on the 13th of September, 2024. He leaves behind a beloved great niece, Miranda, siblings Lexi and Toby, as well as host of dear friends and acquaintances whose lives he touched deeply. He is preceeded in death by his partner of almost 15 years, Helen Kenney.
Chris was a hard worker and dedicated employee, and formed strong connections with everyone he met. He remained a pillar of knowledge and responsibility in his position at Arco until he was forced to retire due to illness. His coworkers remember him fondly, and continued to ask about him, and send well wishes, years after leaving.
In his personal life, he relished the simple joys of life. His hardworking attitude carried over to his multitude of home improvement projects, and he enjoyed winding down with a cold Pepsi. His love for music was profound, always finding time to gush about the immeasurable skill of Buckethead, practicing the iconic guitar chords of Metallica, and blasting the psychedelic rock of Pink Floyd.
His dry, sarcastic sense of humor, while often irritating at times, will be missed now with his absence, along with his intelligence and quick wit. Chris was a computer whiz- his favorite hobby was building and modifying PCs, and his own computer was a constant work-in-progress to become the best version of itself, until his final days. He enjoyed learning about new technology, and always strove to be on top of the latest releases and fastest parts on the market.
Chris was a clever, intelligent, and strong-willed individual. However, what stood out the most was his enduring spirit - his ability to remain positive in the face of adversity and his tireless work ethic. His legacy is one of strength, hard work, and a steely resilience that saw him through life's many trials.
Chris was loved dearly by his late partner Helen, and by her great niece and ward, Miranda. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Chris was a true testament to the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, and he now rests in the peace he so richly deserves.
By his repeated, enthusiastic recommendations during life, we urge you to try the food at Hana Tsubaki, in Sacramento, in his memory.
