My favorite memory of Chris is when he and his dad James were part of an annual father-son canoe trip, along with me and my two sons David and Nathan, Bob and Sam Lazear, and John and Dan Haberman. We went to the BWCA twice, to the Brule River, to the North Fork of the Rum River, among other places. These were wonderful days; our boys were all friends in school together, and the dads were friends. I will never forget the huge smile on Chris' face as he and James would paddle down the river - being on a beautiful Minnesota River on a fantastic summer afternoon with your dad and your best buddies. One of those days that you never forget, and gives you faith in the world.

Although sadly I reget I wasn't able to spend much time with Chris. Clearly he was very bright, but he was in my experience a warm and loving man in every way. He sent me a beautiful message shortly after I bought them Dawne's Birthday dinner remotely from California. He thanked me for this and other things and ended with these words "You bring my Mom joy so in turn I love you Tom". I will never forget those words. God rest his Soul.
