Chocolate's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Chocolate "Choco-lot-tae" Kage, better known as Chocolate, who left us all too soon on April 28, 2025. Born on March 17, 2008, Chocolate lived a full and memorable life, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Chocolate leaves behind his parents, Kisha Kage and Robert Kage, his loving sister, Makaila Kage, and his adored grandmother, Tricia Davis. He was respectfully preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Theresa and Robert L. Kage. Also, Man-Man, Aunt Tee Bugg, Aunt Cherly, Great Aunt Deborah, cousins Alyss, Farrah, Abbie, and Allie & a host of cousins, neighbors, and friends.
With a personality best described as funny, protective, and sleepy, Chocolate was an exceptional individual—always ready to make us smile or lend a comforting paw. Fierce and fun-loving, he never shied away from showing his love, even if it meant playfully nipping at those closest to him, truly embodying his personal philosophy: If someone won't do what you want them to do, just bite them a little.
A self-proclaimed food enthusiast, Chocolate loved nothing more than his favorite meals—cheeseburgers, Lil Ceasar's, chicken, and cheese puffs. A simple glass of iced water was often his beverage of choice. Chocolate also relished being active, whether he was playing with his toys, barking at passersby, or cheering on for his favorite sports team, the New Orleans Saints.
He also enjoyed the more peaceful moments in life, indulging in his favorite pastimes of sleeping and receiving belly rubs. Favored local spots included sunbathing on the stairs. He also loved taking breaks in his favorite vacation spot, his backyard, further proof of his simple yet fulfilling life.
Chocolate's endearing personality and love for life left an indelible mark on his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all he touched. His legacy of love and loyalty will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
