Chester Glenn's obituary

Chester Glenn Beaman Sr., (Papa), age 83 of Fayetteville NC took his last breath from his earthly body and opened his eyes on the glorious streets of heaven on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, with his family by his side.

Glenn grew up on a tobacco farm where he made many memories with his siblings while learning how to farm tobacco. He eventually went off to college at LewisBurg to study Liberal Arts. After college, he went to work for Garner Wynn & Manning for 35 years. He met his late wife Rebecca, (Becky), along the way, and they shared 46 years of marriage. They settled in Fayetteville NC to raise their two sons, Johnny and Chester Jr. and their daughter Shannon. Glenn enjoyed napping in his recliner, watching his westerns, wrestling, and the farm channel.

Glenn was the neighborhood PaPa, and he was always checking on someone and making sure they were okay . If he had it and you needed it, you got it. When you didn't find him caring for someone, he was out bowling, mowing the grass, or "surveying" as he liked to call it, but he was really trying new restaurants with his adopted son Vince. You could always catch him at Lowe's where he would walk around just to "get ideas." He enjoyed going to the racetrack where he would watch his boys' gocart , dirt, or drag racing. Papa was an avid listener to the police scanner throughout the day. He was also quick to share his knowledge about every business that was fixing to get built in Fayetteville and where. He could keep a conversation going with even a stranger on the street, mostly about him growing up or just random things. He never met a stranger.

Glenn was born February 21, 1941, to the late JP Beaman and Bertha Mae Beaman of Walstonburg, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife Becky , his stepson Johnny Horne, and his daughter Shannon Seaberry, brothers Tommy Beaman, Jarvis Beaman , Kenneth Beaman , and Charles Beaman, and two sisters Ester Jackson and Lou Beaman.

Surviving to carry on his memory is his large family of which he loved and protected son Chester Beaman (Christine), of Fayetteville, grandson that he raised as his son Caleb Beaman, (Alyssa), of Fayetteville two granddaughtes Keyona Seaberry of Lumberton NC and Malia Seaberry of Maxton NC and grandson Geronimo Seaberry of Maxton NC, brother Phil Beaman (Frankie) of Burlington NC , sister Dianne Tyndall of Leland NC ,

His pride and joys that he would show pictures of to everyone he knew are his great grandchildren D'Anthoni, "D" Seaberry, Kendrix, "Sunny"Handy Jr., John, "John Boy" Beaman and Melina "Pretty Girl" Seaberry. Also, to carry on are his adopted family Vince & Sandra Colvin and their children Stephen, Keisha, and Deon all of Fayetteville as well as his best friends Melissa & William Ware of Fayetteville
