Born Cheryl Duane Nunn in Winston-Salem, North Carolina August 6, 1946, to Kathryn Cook Nunn and Leonard Robert Nunn, Cheryl Helmar passed away in ____ New Jersey, July 16, 2021, three weeks before her 75th birthday. Widow of Walter R. Ochmanski who died in 1987, Cheryl married Henry George Helmar in 1989. Henry Helmar predeceased Cheryl in 2017. United by their love of show dogs, Cheryl and Henry owned Déjà Vu Bulldogs and their champion stud, Ultimate Peterbilt. For many years, Cheryl ran her dog grooming shop, Furry Friends, in Moorestown, New Jersey. Cheryl Helmar had many hobbies and was an excellent crafts person. Gifts of her stained glass work and embroidery are treasured by many who knew her. She is survived by one sister, Lealan Nunn Swanson of Eugene, Oregon and her children Catherine Christine Swanson of Oakland, CA, and Gunnar Kristian Swanson of Atlanta, GA. Cheryl and Henry are survived by their adopted son, Kyle Rapp and his wife Gina Bagnarelli-Rapp of Earlville, NY along with their children: Gina Marie, Angelea, Sergio, Romeo, and Rocko.. Cheryl will be missed by her many loving friends and relatives.
