Cheryl's obituary

Cheryl R. (Rostel) Futrell, 60, passed on Thursday, December 13, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Spring Hill. Cheryl was born October 23, 1958 in North Tonawanda, NY, the first of four children born to Peter and Loretta Rostel. In 1968 the Rostel’s relocated to Elfers, FL. Cheryl spent her formative years enjoying the new found sunshine and mastering the art of stubbornness, a trait that helped her excel in motherhood and her career. After turning heads for a few years, Cheryl graduated from Hudson High School in 1976. She gave birth to her most charming and balding son, Kyle, in 1979. In 1984, she married Stephen Richardson, and bore probably the finest golfer Pasco County ever saw, Keith. Cheryl married her long time love, William (Billy) Futrell Jr. in 1989, who faithfully served her until her last day. Cheryl worked in the banking, legal, and law enforcement fields. Her interests included quilting, sending care packages to deployed troops, and loving and caring for her grandchildren Kyra and Tanner. She was affectionately known as “Momster” by her boys and would sacrifice her own needs if it meant helping someone; “adopting” many kids and friends who needed a positive figure in their life. She had a knack for providing unsolicited love and empathy to those who needed it, all while serving a healthy dose of tough love for those who complained without proper justification. She enjoyed an occasional Maker’s Mark and glass of Ouzo. She made friends with ease and developed a strong bond and relationship with Jehovah and his Witnesses until cancer took her from us. She will be sorely missed and forever loved.
Cheryl is survived by: her husband Billy; three boys Kyle Richardson, Patrick AFB, FL, Keith Richardson, Odessa, FL, step-son Jason Lorendo, L’Anse, MI; daughters-in-law, Candice Richardson, Patrick AFB, FL, Priscilla Richardson, Odessa, FL; grandchildren Kyra Richardson, Tanner Richardson; mother, Loretta Mazzuco; father, Peter Rostel, brothers Pete & Mark Rostel, and mother-In-Law, Carol Futrell. Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Tammy Rostel.
