I am so sorry to hear about your mother Cheryl. I am her cousin on her mother’s side. Her mom was my mom’s sister. I’m a bit younger than she was. I don’t know why she was estranged from our family but she was always nice to me. God bless her. May she rest in peace! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Cheryl Sue (Flickinger) Decker passed away August 19, 2020 at the age of 73.
Cheryl was born October 14, 1946 in Alamosa, Colorado to Leroy and Corina Flickinger. She met her late husband Arthur Wininger Decker III “Bud” when she was 18 years old then married in Denver, CO on December 7, 1967. In 1969 they had a daughter Jennifer (Decker) Ruiz and in 1972 they settled in Phoenix, AZ and had a son Arthur Wellwood Decker IV.
She had a 30-year career that began at Mountain Bell as an Operator in 1973 and retired in 2003 as a Central Office Technician from Quest.
Always happy to see you, she loved to read and rescued many of her pets. She mostly enjoyed saying “yes” to anything her seven grandchildren (Michael Ruiz, Thomas Ruiz, Kate Ruiz, Bridget Ruiz, Morgan Decker, Brennan Decker and Reagan Decker) requested.
Arrangements were made for cremation at Abel Funeral Services and a private memorial was held September 12th at My Mother’s Restaurant.
Thank you for being a great mother and grandmother. You will be missed dearly by many for so many reasons.
You have reunited with your husband and I know the two of you are back in cahoots.
