Cherokee's obituary

Cherokee Washington, a treasured sister, compassionate nurse, and radiant soul, passed away on January 12, 2026. Born on September 20, 1992, Cherokee lived her life devoted to serving others with an unwavering drive and a heart full of kindness.

A resolute individual, Cherokee was frequently characterized by her hardworking nature. Her loyalty and dedication were evident in every aspect of her life, from her steadfast commitment to her family to her vocation as a traveling trauma nurse. It was not simply her profession but a calling. She embodied what it meant to be honest and kind, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she crossed paths with.

A firm believer in displaying consistent support, one of the greatest lessons Cherokee imparted was to 'Always show up for those you love.' This became her guiding philosophy, influencing her choices and shaping her legacy. Those who knew Cherokee will remember her not only for her accomplishments, but also for the love and dedication she selflessly gave.

Cherokee achieved much in her time with us, including becoming a traveling trauma nurse. In the often chaotic and unforgiving environment of trauma care, Cherokee stood as a beacon of calm and hope for her patients. Her contributions not only impacted her direct patients but rippled throughout the healthcare community, setting a benchmark for commitment, empathy, and resilience.

Cherokee was predeceased by her loving sister, Rainee Washington, and their parents, Sabrina and Marcus Washington. Their memories remain a beacon of guidance and love. She is survived by her loving sister, River Washington, who cherishes the bond they had and the love Cherokee poured into their relationship.

While Cherokee's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to enrich our lives. Through her accomplishments, lessons, and the stories she leaves behind, Cherokee Washington's legacy remains forever etched in our hearts.
