Cherie's obituary

Cherie Marie Grant, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on April 17, 2023, at the age of 75, after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born on May 31, 1947, in Worcester, to Theodore Paquin and Cherie Helen Nelson.

Cherie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was always there for her family and friends, and she always put their needs before her own. She was a kind and compassionate person, and she always had a smile on her face.

Cherie was a talented teacher and caregiver. She worked as a teacher at the daycare at UMass, and she also opened a daycare center in her home. She loved working with children, and she had a gift for making them feel loved and cared for.

Cherie was a fighter. She fought her cancer for over 15 years, and she never gave up hope. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Cherie is survived by her three children, Donald Grant II, Lori Grant, and Eric Grant; her three grandchildren, Vincent Geldart, Amber Pietrowicz, and Steven Pietrowicz III; her siblings, Theodore Paquin Jr., Laurette Hofford, and William Paquin; Her son in law Aaron Little who she adopted as her own some time ago; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm. on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at the United Congregational Church, 6 Institute RD in Worcester, MA. Greetings begin about 1pm and refreshments follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to offset the cost of interment. Donations can be sent to:

Cherie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, strength, and love.
