Cheri's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cheri McDonald, a beloved mother, sister, and friend. Cheri was born on February 14, 1978, and passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026.

Cheri was a monumental figure in the lives of her children, Shemar Mack, Zaria Mack, and Zania Hayes, who survive her. They will remember her for her unwavering love and support. Her kind-hearted spirit also lives on through her brother, Sidney Johnson, who continues to hold her closely in his heart. She was predeceased by her brother, Sam Johnson, and her mother, Cynthia McDonald, who we believe welcomed her with open arms on the other side.

A true beacon of light, Cheri was nearing the completion of her Bachelors degree in 2026, a proud accomplishment that echoed her dedication to lifelong learning. She was a woman whose personality was defined by kindness and a genuine concern for others. Everyone who knew her was touched by her generosity and her unfaltering positive outlook.

Through her actions and words, Cheri taught us invaluable lessons about success, fortitude, and the importance of perseverance. Her life was a testament to her belief in hard work and an embodiment of the mantra she often shared, "Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success."

Cheri's legacy will undoubtedly be one of magnanimity and kindness. She has left behind a blueprint of how to lead a successful life, not measured by material possessions, but by the love we share and the lives we touch. Her memory will forever be enshrined in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.

May her soul rest in peace and her cherished ideals continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
