Charlotte Ann (Pierce) Maynard, 84, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away at home on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Charlotte was born on August 2, 1936, in Brockton, MA, the eldest child of John and Ethel (Kilroy) Pierce. Charlotte graduated from Newton Wellesley School of Nursing (RN) and after serving in the Navy, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater (MA) State College.

Charlotte loved surgical nursing and traveling. She had a long career combining the two. She worked in locations across the U.S., training surgery teams and setting up operating rooms. She settled in Ft. Myers in 1989 where she worked for Lee Memorial then Hope Hospice.

She is survived by her children, Tracy (Tom) Dawson Joyce and Matthew (Sara) Dawson; siblings Cynthia Angeley and Richard Pierce; grandchildren Casey (Scott) Berlin; Julie and Michael Joyce; Jacob, Alexis, Abigail, and Joshua Dawson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Charlotte was predeceased by her first husband, Frank J. Dawson II, son Frank J. Dawson III, brother John R. Pierce, and her second husband, Edward L. Maynard.
