Charlotte's obituary
Charlotte King, 71, of District Heights, Md., died suddenly on August 24, 2022. Her loss was completely unexpected. While our family is shocked and deeply saddened, we take comfort in knowing she is resting safely in God's loving embrace free from all hurt and suffering.
Charlotte was born on July 7, 1951, in Washington, D.C., to Rev. Leon Don King, Sr., and Erie Mae King. Charlotte graduated from McKinley Tech High School in Washington, D.C., in 1969. After graduating high school, she worked several jobs before landing a position as a computer specialist at the Office of Naval Intelligence, where she worked for 30 years. In 2004, Charlotte fulfilled a long-time dream when she earned an AAS in Computer Information Systems from Prince Georges Community College. She graduated from The Catholic University of America, Metropolitan College, in 2006, with a BA in Information Technology.
Charlotte had an immense passion for building and repairing computers, knitting, and reading. She especially enjoyed reading mystery and science fiction books. She also enjoyed volunteering at her church; listening to music; watching her favorite television programs with her sister; going to plays; and celebrating birthdays, holidays, and sometimes Sunday dinners with her family. Anyone who knew Charlotte knew that she was kind, generous, and supportive. Charlotte’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Rev. 21: 4
