I could not have asked for a better mom. She showed me strength and grace when things felt impossible. I never understood the kind of sacrifices she made until I became a mom. All the moody outbursts I had, she handled with nonchalance, despite having her heart broken. She always provided in every way. She raised 5 children in such a way that we all came to care for her in her later years, and loved doing so. I feel I got more out of caring for her than she got from me caring for her, and I'm certain my siblings will agree. Mama, you were the absolute best parent, role model and friend a girl could ever ask for. I love you more than you know!
