Charlotte's obituary

In loving memory of Charlotte Mary (Simmons) Davis, grandma extraordinaire and devoted mom, the ultimate ice cream connoisseur and puzzle champion passed away April 18, 2024, at 82 years young. With a spatula in one hand and a paint brush in the other, she navigated life’s challenges with artistry, humor, and a dash of sass.

Charlotte, “Char” to those that knew her well, was born on September 1, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from her beloved Saint Joseph Academy, she met the love of her life, John W. Davis of Medina, Ohio, and wed in 1962. Dedicating her life to being a mom and grandma, she excelled at supporting her family through many passions and difficulties. Her kitchen was a sanctuary of warmth and delicious aromas.

Whether she was sharing her family recipes or dispensing sage advice over a glass of wine, her wisdom and wit touched the lives of all who knew her. Char was a talented artist and was known for her infectious smile. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found watching her Cleveland sports teams, playing card games with friends, and crafting with her grandkids. She was a member of the Jaycees organization, Northland Counseling, Toll Painters of America, and the Boy Scouts of America but did not cherish the outdoors, particularly flying snakes.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ethel and her husband of 60 years, John. She is survived by her loving sister Edith (Frank), and her brother Ray (Diane). She leaves behind her children Michael, Scott (Kristin), Brian and Allison (Jimmy), her beloved grandchildren Rede, James, Madisson, Anna, Kayleigh, Tyler, Camille, and her tolerated fuzzy grandchildren Rey and Rocky.

Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, Friend, you are missed, and may your heavenly kitchen be filled with endless batches of your favorite treats that you are sharing with Dad. You can rest easy finding solace and joy in each other’s embrace once again.
