Char's obituary
Charlotte Dawn Blomer, 72, passed away on August 10, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Until the end, Char remained kind, strong, and humorous. She was deeply touched by the love of family and friends who supported her through visits, calls, and messages. She left this world feeling truly loved, which meant everything to her and her family.
Born on November 13, 1952 to Robert and Juanita Froshaug, Charlotte was a devoted sister to her brother Bob “The Golden Child” Froshaug.
She married the love of her life, Richard Blomer, and together they raised four well-behaved children: Jason, Jon, Troy, and Amanda. Charlotte was a proud grandmother to many cherished grandchildren. She went above and beyond at family gatherings, organizing games and prizes to ensure every child had fun and left smiling.
Charlotte dedicated much of her career to serving children as a paraprofessional and librarian at Mille Lacs Academy. Her love of books was evident—hallways lined with shelves and books scattered throughout her home. She took great pride in running the school library, fostering a love of reading in countless young minds. She tirelessly searched book sales and garage sales to grow the library, touching the lives of students, coworkers, and friends alike.
Her life was filled with simple joys—tending her garden gnome collection, treasure hunting at garage sales with her best friend Midge, and always finding the best deals on crafts and books. She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle humor, and ability to make everyday moments special.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Jason, Jon, Troy, and Amanda; and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Juanita.
