Charlie Cotton, a man of exemplary personality, was born on December 20, 1970, and sadly passed away on August 9, 2023. The void of his departure is felt intensely by his loved ones and those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His sparkling personality housed traits of being hardworking, proud, hilarious, and selfless, endearing him to all he met.

Charlie was a man who prided himself on self-reliance and imparted this wisdom through his statement, 'Never accept a handout but always be grateful for a hand up.' This phrase was not just a lesson to him but something he lived by and encouraged others to embrace. His humility and zest for self-improvement were infectious, inspiring everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Charlie's pride and joy were his two beloved children Charlanna (James) Cotton-Johnson and Jordan Cotton (Chrissy) followed closely by his six adored grandchildren.  Jamirra, Javette, Javonni, James Johnson Jr(Lanna) Bailey Cotton, and Katrina Cotton(Jordan). Their successes and accomplishments were Charlie’s most significant achievements. His face would light up at their mention, his love for them deeply inscribed in his heart. He cared for his family selflessly, instilling in them the values of hard work and resilience that he himself embodied.

His absence will be mourned by all those whose lives he touched, not only within his immediate circles, but also across the globe. The world needs more individuals like Charlie Cotton, a man whose laughter was contagious and whose heart was as vast as the ocean. His memory will be cherished, his teachings remembered, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Charlie. You will be profoundly missed.
