Chad's obituary

In Loving Memory of Charles “Chad” Dennery Wambsgans III

Charles Dennery Wambsgans III, lovingly known as Chad, was born on February 13, 1966, in Melbourne, Florida, and later made his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he also passed away.

Chad was a devoted husband to Kimberly Cannon Wambsgans and a proud, loving father to his two daughters, Avery Elizabeth Wambsgans and Kendal Regan Wambsgans Patterson (and her husband, Matthew Aaron Patterson). He was the beloved son of Charles Dennery Wambsgans Jr. and Pauline Frances Wambsgans, and the cherished brother of Paul Frances Wambsgans and Eric Wambsgans (and wife Pamela Dykes Wambsgans).

He was a proud member of the St. Jude Men’s Club, a brother in the Delta Chi Fraternity, and a dedicated parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church. Chad lived his life with a servant’s heart—spending time with his daughters, helping others, volunteering tirelessly for his church, and sharing generously with family and friends. He was an avid LSU fan, a serial prankster, and a well-known daiquiri guru. Chad’s faith, generosity, humor, and deep love for his family will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to know him.

A Mass will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 12:30 pm at St. Joseph Abbey Retreat Center in St. Benedict, Louisiana. A celebration of life will follow at Norm’s Daiquiris in Thibodaux, Louisiana, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, beginning at 2:00 pm. - exactly as Chad would have wanted. In honor of Chad, the family requests guests wear green for his services.

If desired, donations may be made to St. Joseph Abbey. If you’d like to contribute in another way, we ask that you say a rosary or spend some time in adoration in memory of Chad.
