I first met uncle Charles at Home Assembly Church. My first impression of him was that he was a distinguished man of integrity; and that is who he proved to be.
One thing I learned from Elder Tolbert is to finish what you start.

Paul and I loved and will miss Uncle Charles. As we send our love, hugs, and prayers, we are comforted by The Holy Spirit in knowing that Uncle Charles was a sweet, devoted, faithful, and powerful teacher of God's Word and, lived a sanctified life. He also showed his undying love for, and respect to his lovely and sweet wife Aunt Joyce. Uncle Charles, you will forever live on in our hearts!! ❤ Cheryl Tolbert

Charles was a real Man. A person without ego who loved his family and his community. He lived by example and in his most calm and patient ways taught the world what true conditional love is. I was lucky enough to witness his example as a young girl into adulthood. You will be missed down here but I know you are living the good life up there. Thank you, Charles. Love you.
My Dad taught me what it means to love unconditionally. He taught me to always be mindful of helping my community, and being there for family. He taught me through example what it means to be a man of integrity. He taught me many of the business minded principles I have today. He taught me through example what it means to be a True man of God. He taught me how to tie my 1st tie, always having a good suit in your closet, and his cologne game was unmatched...he taught me to always smell good. My taught me so many little things just through the way he lived his life.
Pastor Charles Tolbert was always ready to give a Word of encouragement, always had a smile when I would meet up with him. May the FATHER of Lights, keep all the Tolbert family, with comfort and peace knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior Yeshua (Jesus). His insight will be missed.
He never met a stranger was always welcoming to all. His profound knowledge of God’s Word and his rich singing voice.
In response to "What always reminds you of Charles?"
Uncle Charles was a man among men, a leaders leader, an extremely anointed man of God and a dear dear friend to everyone who was blessed to have known him. His godly example of what Christ was to look, sound and live like by all Christians. His in depth knowledge of God’s Word was so so inspiring to me and has shaped my approach in “rightly dividing Gods Word.” I love him dearly and while I will miss his voice here, I know I will hear it again in glory soon.
Charles ministered in many capacities with intelligence and integrity. His legacy will be remembered on earth and rewarded in heaven! Thomas M. Alexander, Sr.
May God comfort the family in a way that only He can. May joy be found in knowing that this was a life well lived. Thomas and Marian Alexander
