Charles Strickland, 63, of Ocala, FL, passed away on July 05, 2025 after a tiresome battle with stage four lung cancer.
Charles was born on July 1, 1962 and adopted by his parents Katharina & James Strickland in Savannah, GA. After completing his education at Statesboro High School in 1980, he went on pursue the life of an entrepreneur traveling through Texas and Florida; later becoming the CEO of founded company, "Cool It Insulation Inc." in 1995. Leading his life with a heart of compassion, Charles organized multiple nonprofit organizations, becoming the President and Chief Director of the National AIDS Awareness Center Inc. in Largo, FL (1990) and helped to establish Hope for the Homeless Foundation Inc. (2001).
In 1994, Charles and his previous spouse welcomed their first daughter, Katie Scarlett into the world and later in 1998 welcoming their youngest, Savannah Grace. Charles was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his children and deeply loved and valued every connection he made throughout his journey.
Charles was the life of the party and lit up every room he walked into, sometimes even demanding it through endless jokes and laughs. He was a safe space with an open mind and heart with plenty of room for others - holding compassion and drive for change throughout his life. He enjoyed a relaxed lifestyle of community, sunshine, fishing, tennis, and early morning breakfast. Anyone who knew Charles knew that they had a friend by their side.
