Lee's obituary

Charles “Lee” Spencer Stanley passed on September 19, 2024.

Lee was the definition of a “Morehouse Man:” Tall, charismatic, chiseled dark features, and always dressed to impress. He entered every room like he owned it and had a big booming laugh. During his time at Morehouse, he majored in Marketing, Business, and the beautiful women of Spelman College.

Lee was active in sports his entire life. His early interests were sports like football in high school, Golden gloves, and kickboxing. He earned his black belt in karate early in his karate life and eventually was involved in ultimate fighting.

He loved and trained dogs, large and small with the small ones often

ruling the big dogs, especially the shepherds. His current dog, a German shepherd named Destin, makes friends where-ever he goes and is now living with Brian.

Lee, with the help of a high school friend, Kim, was introduced to religion a few months before his passing. Kim spent time reading and explaining scriptures to him, which encouraged Lee to accept Christ. For this we are eternally grateful.

Lee leaves behind his mother, Ione Stanley, and four siblings;  Cheryl Poole, Brian Stanley, Ruth Beene Ayenew, Hillu Beyene;  his ex-wife, Pricilla Stanley, daughters;  Camille Traylor and Erica Hernandez, his niece and nephew, Rachel Poole and Nicholas Stanley, his grandchildren, Aaliyah August, Devin Hubbard, Eric O’Quinn, and Alezander Hubbard, and many additional family and friends. His daughter, Erica, and his beloved father Charles Stanley preceded him in death.

Our family wishes to thank you so very much for every act of comfort each you have afforded us in our time of bereavement. Your considerable acts of love and kindness have made our loss a little less painful.
