Charles's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce that Charles Spicer passed away on September 22, 2024. Born on May 24, 1952 he resided in Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Essington, PA. He was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His warm and welcoming personality touched all who had the honor of knowing him. Charles always had an open door and an open heart for those in need.
He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Spicer, his sister Sandra McCafferty, and partner Kim Menginie.
His legacy lives on through his loving daughters, Shana Spicer Kelly (Kevin), Kristin Spicer Conway (Sean), and step-son Tony Menginie (Lindsay). The imprint of his influence will continue to echo down the generations; through his grandchildren Jake and Ryan Wheeler and Cora and Caleb Kelly. Survived by his brothers George Spicer (Deena) and, Artie DeGrave. Also survived by Kathleen Dillon Spicer.
Charles was a passionate fan of football, particularly the Dallas Cowboys. His fondness for football was equaled only by his love for horse racing, which he watched with great enthusiasm. Charles had a competitive spirit and love for social interaction. Charles often enjoyed fishing, clamming, boating, and crabbing down Pot Nets.
Charles was a member of the VFW Post 4845. He was also a member of the AM VETS Post 22 where he held the position of treasurer and board member. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
