Charles "JuJu" Smith age: 66 of Gaffney Sc, passed away on March 3rd after a fierce battle with pneumonia. Charles was born on June 10th, 1956 to Josaphine Smith and Michale Smith in Charlotte Sc. After graduating from  West Charlotte High in 1974, He went on to study engineering at The University Of North Carolina At Charlotte.


After graduation, he landed his first job as an engineer for Affinity Engineering for 21 years. In 2004, he met Caroline Webber, and they wed in 2011, going on to have 2 wonderful children, Charles Smith Jr 32; and Robert Smith 30. Charles was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of CSJ, Robert Smith, and Caroline and how he always tried his best to support them. Charles was also a passionate fisher and could often be found at Freedom lake at Freedom park when he wasn’t at home.


Anyone who knew Charles knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Charles was predeceased by Albert Smith, Betty Smith, and Winthrop Smith. He is survived by Samuel Webber Derrick Webber and Robert Webber.


The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to 2439 Double Oaks Rd. There will be a funeral at 4:50 pm at Calvary Church.
