Craig's obituary
Our Brother Charles “Craig” Richmond passed away on August 16th, 2024 at the age of 48.
Craig was born on May 10, 1976 to Don and Joy Richmond in Charleston South Carolina.
Craig was raised an Air Force Brat, the youngest of 3 children, he enjoyed all of the benefits of being “the baby” of the family. Craig was fortunate enough to spend his first 3 years of life living in Italy and returned to the country a bilingual toddler thanks to the love from the “Lelli” Family.
Craig was an athletic youngster and continued to play sports through high school.
Craig held many work related positions throughout his life but the majority was spent with Union Pacific Railroad and then locally with Straight Edge Concrete Cutting.
The loves of his life were first and foremost, his daughter Olivia, his sweet pup “JJ”, his family and friends and anything Mississippi State, he loved his Bulldogs🩷
Anyone that knew Craig would tell you that he could make you laugh one minute and want to pull your hair out the next. One minute you were “writing him off” the next minute he was joining your family for Christmas. We will miss his crazy stories…that we knew were exaggerated but always entertaining. We will miss the random phone calls, the texts asking crazy questions, and being asked if we were on for “Taco Tuesday”. He was our baby brother, we’d give anything to have just one more phone call:(
Craig’s friends and their families called him “Uncle Craig”, he was a personality to be reckoned with. The memories will live on through all of us. We will miss him more than words can say.
Contributions in memory of Craig and in lieu of flowers can be made to a Trust account for a college fund for his 14 year old daughter, Olivia Richmond.
The family has made the difficult decision to have a small intimate service with immediate family only. We are so grateful for the love, encouragement, and prayers during this very difficult time.
We pray that our family and friends will give us grace and understand our decision for a private service. This has been a shock for us and for his daughter, please allow us patience and grace as we navigate our “new normal” .
Craig was an organ donor, someone will have sight through his eyes, this warmed our hearts greatly. We donated his vehicle to Mercy House Adult and Teen Challenge and his furniture to Love Your Neighbor Ministries. This is what he would have wanted and we’d love to encourage your support for these wonderful charities.
Rest in peace little brother, we will see you on the other side one day… but for now “Hail State”!
