Charles's obituary

Charles “Chuck” Morris was born in Granite City, IL on December 14, 1935.  At the age of 88 years, he went home to be with Jesus on March 10, 2024 at his home in Jurupa Valley, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Henrietta Morris, wife Connie Morris, siblings Myrtle Mae Ross, Mary Austin, Raymond Morris, Betty Gerdes, and son Steven Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Debra, his children June Morris, Charles “Bud” Morris, Jr. (wife Sandy), John Morris, Carla Morris and step-daughters Lisa Gutierrez (husband Fernando) and Christine Gutierrez (husband Sergio), 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Charles lived life to the fullest.  While on active duty in the Navy, Charles boxed all over the world. After an honorable discharge he went on to become a professional wrestler winning a few titles as Chuck "the Moose" Morris.

A family man, he brought his family to CA in 1965 and continued working in the trucking industry.  Having a great love for horses since his youth, he built a stable to house his seven horses and the horses of others. He also was a farrier.  He served as a reserve deputy with the Sheriff’s department as part of the mounted posse.

At a young age Charles knew he had a calling on his life. He got back into church and served the Lord in many ministries. He started deacon ministries, taught adult Sunday school, got his minister’s license and began preaching.  After he retired from the trucking industry, he passionately pursued his love for writing.

Charles was loved and well respected throughout his 88 years by all the lives he touched. While we will all miss hearing and reading his stories, we are comforted knowing he is in the arms of Jesus.
