Charles's obituary

On Sept. 9, 2024, Charles Richard Moorehead, 78, departed from this life and his high school sweetheart, Patricia “Pat” Moorehead, to whom he was married 61 years (at 17 and 16 years old respectively). He was born July 13, 1946 in Louisville, MS to the late Robert and Margie Moorehead of Medina/Jackson, TN. Charles attended Jackson High School and served in the TN Army National Guard after 8 years in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic and saw tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and King Bradley Dozer Services, but his passions were cooking, woodworking crafts and dressing as Santa during Christmas.  The youngens all knew he had snacks and treats close-by. “Charlie,” as his friends knew him, had a hearty laugh and no filter. He sang and cut a southern gospel recording called “One Day At A Time” with The Brotherhood Quartet.  He is survived by his children: Susan (Randy) Hughes of Milan, TN; Joshua Moorehead of Grass Valley, CA; and Andrew Moorehead of Jackson, TN; his siblings Tommie Moorehead, Linda (Woody) Davis, and John Moorehead; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Patricia (Dewitt) Nations. (Viewing arrangements through Arrington Funeral Directors, Jackson, Tenn.)
