Chuck's obituary
Charles Richard Mielke, 86, of Tomball, Texas passed away on June 19th due to complications after a minor surgery.
Chuck was born in Saginaw, Michigan on December 11th 1935, the son of Ralph and Julia Fedor Mielke. He was a member of the Saginaw High School class of 1954.
Chuck served his country in the Naval Reserve and the Air Force from 1953 to 1958. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1958.
Chuck was a volunteer member of the Spalding, Michigan fire department in Saginaw, Michigan and coach little league baseball. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and cheering on his beloved Michigan State Spartans!
Chuck was predeceased by his parents, his sister Helen Holton, his brother-in-law Bill Holton, his brother-in-law Richard Bruns and his nephew Richard Bruns, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years and 2 months, Rebecca Louise Benkert Mielke, his son Brian Mark Mielke, both of Tomball, Texas, his daughter Ann Marie Mielke Sherman of St. George, Utah, his grandson Mitchell Scott Louis Sherman and his great granddaughter Baylee Kaye Sherman. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Sue Bruns, his brother-in-law Edwin Benkert, nieces Cathy, Lynn, Denise, Julie, Stacy and nephews Bill, Edwin, Mike, and Steve.
A funeral mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Community in the Mary Chapel on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diocesan Services Fund - https://www.archgh.org/ways-t…, or to Spartanfund.net at Michigan State University.
