Charles's obituary

Charles Carrillo, born June 12, 1960, peacefully passed away on October 14, 2024. A man of immense kindness, calm strength, wit, and creativity, Charles had an extraordinary gift for bringing laughter and light to those around him. Whether through a heartfelt conversation or a playful balloon creation, his presence made others feel seen, supported, and uplifted.

Charles is survived by his sons, Nicolas Carrillo and Alejandro Carrillo, and his daughter-in-law, Lura Noyes. He is deeply mourned by his father, Manuel Carrillo; his sister, Carolyn Serrano; and his brother, Manuel Carrillo, Jr. His many nieces, nephews, and cousins will miss him dearly. His beloved wife, Theresa Renteria, followed him to heaven on November 9, 2024.

Charles and Theresa were married in 1990, a loving and steadfast partnership marked by humor, devotion, and the joy of raising their two sons. A dedicated worker, Charles was both a talented mechanic and a skilled estimator, but it was in coaching that he found his greatest fulfillment. He loved guiding young athletes and cheering on his favorite teams—the 49ers, the Giants, the Sharks, and the Warriors—with unmatched enthusiasm.

Charles’ legacy is one of warmth, wisdom, and generosity. He was a true mentor—always ready to fix what was broken, teach what he knew, and inspire those around him to see the good in every situation. His greatest joys were his family, his community, and the countless lives he touched as a coach and balloon artist.

A Memorial Service for Charles and his wife Theresa will be held on June 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. A celebration of Charles and Theresa's lives will follow at 12:00 PM at The Moose – San Jose Lodge 401.

We invite all who knew and loved Charles to come together in remembrance, sharing the joy, stories, and enduring spirit he leaves behind.
